Jets Add DT Howard Green

The Jets signed defensive tackle Howard Green on Wednesday. New York is looking to fill the hole left by nose tackle Kris Jenkins, who suffered a season-ending injury. Jenkins will miss the rest of the season after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his surgically repaired left knee on Monday night against the Ravens.

The Packers signed cornerback Charles Woodson to a contract extension through the 2014 season on Thursday, a deal that will likely allow the 2009 AP Defensive Player of the Year to retire as a Packer. The 33-year-old Woodson signed a five-year contract that is worth as much as $55M, a person familiar with the deal told The Associated Press.

Wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh has agreed to terms with the Ravens, according to a Associated Press report. The 10-year veteran was cut by Seattle last week. He signed with the Seahawks as a free agent before the 2009 season and had a team-high 79 catches for 911 yards and three touchdowns. After a seven-month stalemate often marked by acrimony, the Jets and holdout cornerback Darrelle Revis agreed in principle Sunday night on a new contract, the team announced early Monday morning. Contract terms weren't immediately available, but a source said it is a seven-year contract that can void to four years, as reported by ESPN.com.

Texans Agree To Terms With Ward

The Texans have agreed to terms with free-agent running back Derrick Ward. Ward was recently released by the Buccaneers. "We hope Derrick can run like he did when he was a very productive player with the Giants," coach Gary Kubiak said. "He's run a lot of zone plays like we run. He's also played some special teams."
